The Flame Thrower Tree

Enjoying my garden this year, 2025, has been an understatement.  With my wonderful vegetables to gather every day, I’m always surprised to find yet another cucumber, zucchini, egg plant, and even some okra.  The tomatoes plants, ( I have planted four different varieties), have reached a height of 12-feet.  If I’m waiting on the “beef stake” or the “early girl” or the “mortgage lifter”, I can always grab a handful of the 1000 cherry tomatoes.  It has been wonderful to just pop them in my mouth at any time.

The roses have finally come alive, and I am getting bouquets every day.  They have been fun to pick, and I have enjoyed handing out vases filled with cut roses, lantana, lilies, marigolds, and whatever I can find among the flower plants.  You all know how much I love gardening, and giving away bouquets make me very happy.   So, I must tell you about my new found treasure, The Flame Thrower Tree.

The Flame Thrower Tree, has been one of the most unique trees I have ever seen.  It was not my choice to include, and I would probably have never discovered it, had it not been for the landscaper, Fred.  He decided I needed it among the roses and flowers.  In fact, he planted two of them, one at each end of the rose garden.  When they began to leaf out, I noticed a variety of colors, and the tree itself took on a palate of designs. It was interesting every day to see these beauties, just unfold into their own work of art.

My neighbours who come over often to see the roses, noticed the trees, and began to marvel at the sight.  One neighbour went out the next day and drove all the way to Indianapolis, where he purchased one.  So, if you would like to add something very unique to your garden landscape, be sure to look for The Flame Thrower.
