Grilled Steaks with Thyme & Lemon

Grilled Steaks with Thyme & LemonNOTE:  These steaks are mouth-watering good.  They are full of great flavor, and they will go with your favorite side and salad.

Ingredients:

  • 4 steaks/ strip, rib eye or sirloin, cut 1 to 1 1/4-inch
  • 3 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated lemon peel
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • peppermint sprigs

Instructions:

  1. Rinse steaks with cool water;pat dry.
  2. In medium bowl combine thyme, garlic, lemon peel, olive oil, and pepper and salt.  Press seasonings evenly onto steaks.
  3. Place steaks on grill over medium ash-covered coals.  Grill steaks uncovered, turning often, about 11 to 14 minutes for the strip and rib eyes.  Cook sirloin steaks 15 to 18 minutes.  Steaks with be medium-rare to medium.  Check steaks by cutting through one of them during grilling for your desired taste.  Note:  Steaks may cook faster according to how hot coals get; check steaks for your liking often.
  4. Remove steaks to platter and garnish with fresh peppermint sprigs.  Serves 4
