Book Signing down at
DiGregorio’s Italian Market the other day, I realized one of the benefits of being a cookbook author… people! I don’t know of much more fun than running into all sorts of people, all wanting to look at, and possibly purchase one of my cookbooks. They tell me of their grandmother’s Italian cooking, and how they wished they could do it just like she did. Or, they tell me of their favorite recipe, and do I have it in my cookbook? They tell me their favorite adventures in the kitchen, how they messed up, how they succeded, how they tried my recipe for the homemade Italian bread, and how excited they were to pull it out of the oven to a glorious golden crust, and to the most heavenly scent they ever encountered. This, with being right in the middle of downtown St. Louis, on “The Hill,” is more exciting then one can take in. People come from everywhere to vist this historical Italian community. They may drive hours just to take in the Italian markets, restaurants, bakeries, gelato ice crem, and even their famous coffees; cappuccino, espresso, cafe au lait.
Some of these folks, I may never meet again, but then some of them email me with their success stories, and how grateful they are for the cookbook. These reports are exhilarating, and entice the author to keep going, keep blogging, keep creating new and fresh recipes. It is just pure fun! I am so blessed to have the published three cookbooks, Rosalie Serving Italian, Rosalie Serving Country, and my latest book, Rosalie Serving Best Loved Italian. They say that becoming an author gets into your blood. I can affirm…Oh, for more years to write more books.
Look for my book signing locations under EVENTS on this website. Love to all of my loyal fans, and mostly to you who love the art of cooking!
